Monaco take on the visitors Paris SG at “Parc des Princes” in a clash for the French Super Cup. The game will be played in Paris on Saturday, July 29th.
Once again Paris SG have won both French Cups (the Coupe de la Ligue and the Coupe de France), however, in the Ligue 1 they settled just on the second place. This summer the Parisians conducted active transfer campaign only in peoples’ rumours, in real life they have made not a single notable purchase except Yuri Berchiche from Real Sociedad, and it is not scope of the modern Paris SG. Last season Monaco showed outstanding football, having promoted to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League and had become the Ligue 1 champions in a confident, spectacular style. The side picked up 95 points with 107-31 goal difference in the elite division. That furious performance had drawn attention of the wealthy football clubs all over the world and, as a result, this summer Monaco was quitted by five football players of the main squad for whom the club received 170 million euro and there were not all its losses during the break. Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva have left Monte Carlo for England, plus Valere Germain, Nabil Dirar, Abdon Diallo who also were sold. They were replaced by Youri Tielemans and Terence Kongolo. In other words, the French reigning champion has become weaker without any doubts.
The rivals met four times in previous season and three out of four that head-to-heads ended with numerous scored goals: 3:1, 1:4, 0:5. I believe that the opponents will show attacking football in the forthcoming fight for the Super Cup and will please their fans with an exciting start of the season.
