Legia Warsaw take on the visitors from Germany in the first match of the group stage in Champions League. The match between Polish champions and German runners-up will be played at Stadion Wojska Polskiego on Wednesday, September 14th.
Legia started their season in the beginning of July with Champions League qualifying matches and gained the right to played in the group stage with eliminating Zrinjski Mostar, Trencin and Dundalk. The place in the group stage of the best club competition in the world cost the team their place in top half of the domestic league. Legia clearly unable to battle in both tournaments and they are currently just 12th in the league with nine points gained in eight matches and seven points behind the leaders. The hosts are clearly suffering a slump with only two wins, four draws and three defeats recorded in nine matches.

Borussia Dortmund is only getting their best conditions and their current form doesn’t impress. The most recent Bundesliga match against newly-promoted Leipzig was lost by Tuchel’s men, 0-1. Yet again, some of the leading players like Reus and Bender are unavailable due to injuries. The defeat in the most recent game should only make the team angrier for the clash with Polish champions.
It’s pointless to compare the opponents’ level as German runners-up are superior in every component. On top of that, Legia are suffering decline and have small chances to offer a battle to the visitors.
Prediction for the match: Borussia Dortmund to win.
