Germany U-19 takes on the visitors Netherlands U-19 at “David Petriashvili Stadium” in the first round of the UEFA Under-19 European Championship. The match will be played in Tbilisi on Monday, July 3rd.
Germany U-19 took the fifth place at the previous European Championship, still it should be admitted that there was another line-up. The Germans conducted six games during current qualification and won all of them with 20:3 aggregated score. “Bundesmannshaft” broke Gibraltar 5:0, Albania 3:2, Ireland 4:0, Cyprus 2:1, Serbia 2:0 and Slovakia 4:0. Because of those results the Germans have become one of the favourites of the entire UEFA Under-19 European Championship. Moreover, they had proved superiority of the German’s football among national teams as the A-team promoted to the 2017 FIFA Confederation Cup’s final while Germany U-21 team qualified to the UEFA European Under-21 Championship’s final.

The Netherlanders settled on the sixth position of the 2016 UEFA Under-19 European Championship having lost the battle for the fifth place to Germany with 3:4 scoreline. The renovated “Oranje” participated in 11 encounters prior to the current final stage recording eight triumphs, two draws and only one defeat in them. The Netherlanders got five victories, one draw, scored 10 goals for and one goal against in official clashes.
Both youth teams showed appropriate results during the year passed from the previous European Championship. I believe that the spectators shouldn’t expect from them exciting battle with a lot of goals combined by the opponents as it was in last year’s head-to-head. It is obvious that the value of a starting match differs dramatically from a clash for the place in the table which has no meaning for none of the sides.
Prediction for the match: Under 3.0 scored goals.
