AC Milan take on the visitors CS U. Craiova at “San Siro” in the reverse fixture of the Qualification semi-final of the UEFA Europa League 2017/2018. The clash will be played in Milan on Thursday, August 3rd. The first-leg game ended with 1:0 scoreline in favour of AC Milan.
It is going to be the first match of renewed AC Milan in face of their fans after expensive summer purchases. At the moment not all new-comers participated in official battles in the Milanese’s line-up. This summer the Italians played just four games, having won friendlies against Lugano 4:0 and Bayern Munich 4:0, were broken by Borussia Dortmund 1:3 and defeated CS U. Craiova with 1:0 scoreline in the Eurocups.

This summer the Romanians lost all four their friendly clashes with 3:9 aggregated score. In the Romanian Liga 1 "Studenții" gained five points in three opening rounds. They were broken in only one official encounter by AC Milan 0:1, even though they had played on equal with wealthy Italians. In 2017 CS U. Craiova showed average performance at away turfs: the side earned two wins, four draws and three losses in nine clashes.
The teams’ level is just incomparable as there is a great gap between them in both dimensions: financial and historical, plus the hosts’ football players are more skilful than the Romanians’ ones. Still, despite all those arguments, I don’t believe that AC Milan will stage a spectacular show and none should expect for a lopsided victory in it on behalf of the Italians.
