Ludogorets take on the visitors Crvena Zvezda in the first leg of third qualifying round of Champions League. The matches will be played in Razgrad at Ludogorets Arena on Tuesday, July 26th.
The new season in Bulgaria hasn’t started yet and the hosts had to gain conditions to qualifying matchups through sparring matches. The team played six club friendlies during pre-season this summer, taking four wins, on draw and one defeat. We should note that Bulgaria champions managed to score in each one of these sparrings. Ludogorets and Crvena Zvezda haven’t played a single head-to-head before. Serbian champions have history but they aren’t that strong as they used to be. Ludogorets, in turn, have experience in late stages of Europa League and played in the Champions League group stage in past couple of years. On top of that, they simply more skilled side and play at own stadium.
