Ludogorets had to troubles winning the domestic league in season 2015-16, recording 70 points and 55-21 goal difference in 32 matches. Even with two defeats in last matchdays, Ludogorets finished 14 points ahead of the second team Levski by 14 points. The team had quite intensive pre-season, playing six sparring matches. Four of them ended with wins of today’s hosts (2-1 over Sparta Prague, 3-0 over Dinamo Tbilisi, 2-0 over Maccabi Haifa, 3-0 over Gorna), drew with Dynamo Moscow (1-1) and lost to Dynamo Kyiv (2-1). Mladost Podgorica also clinched the title beforehand and lost two last league matches last season. 33 league matches gained the team 67 points with 53-28 overall goal difference. Mladost haven’t played a single sparring in since the end of domestic season in May. The visiting side won only away match in 2016 from eight played, drew three and lost four which quite poor record for the best team of the country.
The upcoming match will be their first ever head-to-head. The difference in levels between the teams is humongous and Montenegrin side doesn’t show good results on the road in domestic matches. We should expect Bulgarian Champions to guarantee the place in the next round after home leg with confident win over Mladost.
Prediction for the match: Ludogorets to win with -2.0 Asian handicap.
