World Champions Germany face Ukraine national team in the first match of the group stage in Euro-2016. The match will be played on Sunday, June 12th in Lille and Stade Pierre Mauroy.
Germany are the World Champions and they don’t mind to add the title of the best team in Europe to it. However, the team’s results went down after the triumph in Brazil. Germany have gained only ten teams with two draws and seven defeats in last 19 matches in all competitions and that isn’t the best what the main contenders for the title can show. Joachim Lew’s side played four matches in 2016, taking wins over Italy, 4-1 and Hungary, 2-0, and losing to England, 2-3 and Slovakia, 1-3. Unlike Germany, Ukraine show quite impressive results in their recent matches, recording nine wins, four draws and only two defeats in their last 15 matches. Fomenko’s men played four matches in 2016, beating Cyprus, 1-0, Wales, 1-0, Romania, 4-3 and Albania, 3-1. Ukraine national team are on six-match undefeated run. However, their next opponents are of much higher level and it would be hard to battle one of the best teams of the planet.
