England started the tournament with disappointing draws against Russia, 1-1. The Three Lions played well in the first half, tearing defense of Russia apart. However, the second half’s performance was much poor and Dier’s precise shot was the only positive moment for England. Moreover, at the very last minutes of the match England conceded an equalizing goal from Russia, who scored with their second shot on goal. England appeared as one of the favorites before the start of the competition but their first match at the tournament make us question teams’ potential to battle for the trophy in France.

Wales national team, in turn, played poorly in their recent friendlies before the start of the tournament, but started Euro-2016 with 2-1 victory over solid Slovakia, showing quite nice football.
