Tottenham have exceeded expectations this season. They are second in the Premier League with 58 points gained after 30 matches. They’ve started their journey in eurocups in the Europa League group stage. The Spurs won 4 games, tied one and lost another one recording 13 points. They then faced Fiorentina in the last 32 and beat Italian side 4:1 on aggregate. However, Tottenham were completely outplayed in the first leg at Signal Iduna Park. They lost possession (66:34%) and had way fewer goal attempts (17-3). As a result they lost 0:3 being left with almost no chances to advance further.

Borussia in their turn are occupying 2nd spot in the Bundesliga having 61 points falling 5 points behind leaders Bayern Munich. They started off in the group stage as well. Dortmund collected 10 points in 6 games and clashed with Porto in the last 32. Tuchel’s men had almost secured their place in the next round after first leg and beat Porto 3:0 on aggregate.
We should note Tottenham weren’t that successful in the EPL lately as they are now 5 points behind leading Leicester City. Elsewhere Borussia have been chasing Guardiola’s side waiting them to make a mistake. As a result of the first match Tottenham have small chance to proceed to the next round. Perhaps the Spurs will show open play as they got their backs against the wall and that style will probably results in number of goals scored.
