Greece host Montenegro in another Thursday's friendly on March 24.
Today’s hosts failed the qualifiers, finishing sixth in their group with Northern Ireland, Romania, Hungary, Finland and Faroe Islands, taking only 6 points with 7-14 goal difference. The only victory was taking in meaningless clash with Hungary 4-3 on the very last match. Greece are in the middle of renewing their squad and they hope to get ready for WC18 qualifying campaign.
Montenegro also couldn’t qualify for the main stage, finishing fourth behind Austria, Russia and Sweden and above only Lichtenstein and Moldova with 11 points and negative goal difference 10-13. They show quite poor results on the road, taking wins only in 2 out of 10 away matches with 7 defeats.
There two teams never met before. Both Greece and Montenegro should be trying to use new players and youngster in this match. Both national teams are focused on defense and there shouldn’t be many goals in the match.
Prediction for the match: Under 2.5 goals.
