Qarabag take on the visitors Olimpija Ljubljana at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in the second leg match of UEFA Champions League 1st qualifying round. The match will be played in Baku on Wednesday, July 18th. The first leg match ended with a 1-0 win for Qarabag.
The new football season in Azerbaijan hasn`t started yet so in the summer Qarabag only had three friendly matches where didn`t win any of them (a 1-1 draw against Ludogorets, a 0-0 draw against Wacker Innsbruck and a 0-1 loss to Dynamo Kyiv). Despite those local failures the Horsemen won their first official match in the new season in Ljubljana and increased their chance to go through to the next round of the tournament.

Olimpija had no real competition last season in Slovenia and won both their local championship and their local cup. It`s worth noting that In the final match of the cup they beat Aluminij with a 6-1 score. However, Olimpija does not put on as good perfomance on the European scene as they do in their domestic championship. The Dragons lost the first leg match at home to Qarabag with a 0-1 score which is almost a deadlock for them in the Champions League.
The teams had a very interesting even battle in the first leg match so we should expect the same type of match in the second leg with few goals scored. Neither the Azerbaijanis nor the Slovenes want to lose so their defensive lines are going to show a stronger performance than their offensive lines.
