MOL Vidi take on the visitors AEK Athens at the Groupama Arena in the first leg match of the UEFA Champions League play-offs. The match will be played in Budapest on Wednesday, August 22nd.
Even though MOL Vidi were able to get to the play-offs their playing style was awful in the previous three qualification rounds. All they were doing was locking up in the defense and a waiting for a chance to use their counterattacks. Considering AEK Athens beat strong Celtic in the third qualification round of the Champions League they would be the favourites in the lead-up to the upcoming fixture. The first leg match against the Bhoys was the first official match in the new season for the Enosis but they were able to surprise everyone and draw with a 1-1 score on the away side.
