Uganda national football team had quite busy last year, taking part in 15 matches. New year also start with a friendly matchup. Libya national team didn’t take part in that many matches in 2016, playing almost twice less games, seven. The visiting side managed to record only two wins, one draw and suffered four defeats, including two losses in the group stage of qualification for the World Cup, 0-4 against DR Congo and 0-1 against Tunisia.
The opponents have faced one another only two times in their recent history when Libya defeated today’s hosts in August 2006, 3-2 and another head-to-head ended with 1-1 in March 2008. We shouldn’t expect a high-scoring result from the opponents in the match on the first day of new year. The opponents are of about the same mediocre level.
