Spain national team take on Turkey in their second match of the Euro-2016 group stage. The match will be played in Nice at Allianz Riviera stadium on Friday, June 17th.
Spain have gained victory over Czech Republic in very last minutes after Gerard Pique converted Andreas Iniesta’s perfect pass to precise header. Spain stuck to their favorite football also known as tiki-taka and had possession in the match, constantly improvising and looking for an opportunity to find the back of the net. Del Bosque’s men didn’t look fresh in this match and appeared quite exhausted. We should expect coaching staff to make amendments in training process and Furia Roja will improve their speed and it has to allow the team show better performance in matches to come.
Turkey national team were showing excellent results in 2015-16, recording only one defeat in 15 matches. However, Terim’s men played poorly in their first match and didn’t deserved anything but defeat in match against Croatia. Turkey had possession but created twice less scoring opportunities (9 against 18) and three times less shots on goal (2 against 6). Terim’s men were behind and should’ve put Croatia under the pressure, but failed to do it, proving that they aren’t ready for Euro-2016.
Spain and Turkey national teams played six head-to-heads in their history. Spain won four of these matches, Turkey won one and one match ended with a draw. Considering the level of football showed by the opponents in their first matches, it appears Turkey don’t have many chances for positive result in their clash against the titleholders.
Prediction for the match: Spain to win.
